Factory options varied by model and year. Links are starting points, not a fitment guarantee — we confirm against your VIN and serial numbers.

01Engine families found in Hinos

Many Hino conventional trucks such as the 258, 268 and 338 use the Hino J08E engine, while cabover models like the 155 and 195 commonly use the smaller J05E. Hino's engine lineup has changed over time, so your VIN and engine tag are the best way to confirm what your truck has.

02Transmissions

Many Hino trucks use Allison automatic transmissions. Some have been built with manual transmissions. Check the transmission ID plate or tag and your build data.

03Emissions, ECM and harness

Hino diesels from different emissions periods can use different aftertreatment systems, sensors and ECM calibrations. A replacement engine should match your truck's emissions period, and the engine serial number helps confirm it.

04What to have ready
