Shipping Policy
Last updated: May 2026
Commercial Engines LLC ships commercial truck and marine diesel engines, transmissions, and related powertrain components across the United States and Canada via dedicated freight carriers. This Shipping Policy explains how freight is quoted, dispatched, and delivered.
1. Nationwide Freight Coverage
- Coverage across all 50 U.S. states, including Alaska and Hawaii (port-to-port for AK/HI)
- Canada cross-border freight via approved carriers
- Case-by-case freight to Mexico, the Caribbean, and select international destinations
2. Freight Quotes & Charges
Freight charges are quoted separately from the engine or transmission and are calculated based on:
- Crate or pallet weight and dimensions
- Origin terminal and destination ZIP code
- Delivery type (commercial dock vs. residential)
- Liftgate, inside delivery, or special handling requirements
- Carrier capacity and seasonal freight market conditions
Freight quotes are valid for 7 days unless otherwise stated in writing. Freight charges are non-refundable once dispatched.
3. Lead Times & Transit
- Standard transit time: 3 to 10 business days within the contiguous USA
- Expedited freight is available on request at additional cost
- Alaska, Hawaii, and Canada: 7 to 21 business days depending on routing
Transit times are estimates only. Carriers may experience delays due to weather, capacity, road closures, customs, or regulatory inspections. Commercial Engines LLC is not responsible for carrier delays beyond our control.
4. Crating & Handling
- All engines are securely strapped to heavy-duty pallets or crated for protection during transit
- Drained of fluids where applicable for safe transport
- Tagged with order number, destination, and handling instructions
5. Delivery Type
Commercial delivery is preferred. Destinations with a forklift, loading dock, or commercial yard receive freight most efficiently and at the lowest cost.
Residential or non-dock destinations may incur additional charges for liftgate service, limited-access delivery, or appointment scheduling. These charges will be disclosed prior to dispatch.
6. Customer Responsibilities
The customer is responsible for:
- Providing accurate shipping address, contact name, and phone number
- Confirming whether the destination is commercial or residential
- Disclosing liftgate, inside delivery, or limited-access requirements
- Being available to receive freight and arranging unloading equipment
- Inspecting freight before signing the delivery receipt
Additional charges resulting from inaccurate shipping information, missed appointments, redelivery, or storage will be billed to the customer.
7. Delivery Inspection & Damage Claims
Inspect all freight before signing the bill of lading (BOL) or delivery receipt. Note any visible damage, missing pieces, or crate compromise directly on the BOL.
- Photograph the freight, crate, and any damage at the time of delivery
- Report damage to Commercial Engines LLC within 24 hours at 844-660-9229 or support@commercial-engines.com
- Signing a clean delivery receipt without exceptions waives most freight damage claims
8. Risk of Loss
Risk of loss transfers to the buyer upon carrier pickup. Freight insurance is recommended and is available on request. Commercial Engines LLC is not liable for damage occurring in transit beyond carrier insurance coverage.
9. Cancellations After Dispatch
Orders cancelled after dispatch are subject to round-trip freight charges, a restocking fee, and any liftgate or accessorial fees incurred. See our Refund & Cancellation Policy for details.
